Microsoft has announced a brand new Surface laptop alongside its education focused Windows 10 S operating system.
The new Surface laptop from Microsoft is set to be a no-thrills computer that works on the tasks it’s told to do without any complaints or hiccups. There’s no special features or unique gimmicks to write home about. At the same time, the new Surface laptop still has what it takes to capture the eyes of any new laptop buyers on the market.
New Surface Laptop Specifications
The new Surface laptop comes in two different variants – an i7 or an i5 processor. Each option can be configured to include either 4GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM. The storage options for the Surface laptop are between 128GB and 1TB.
The display on the Surface laptop is 13 inches in size, so not massive. However, large enough to get a decent viewing experience on it. This particular laptop is clearly designed with portability in mind. So whilst it’s not as wafer thin as some laptops on the market, it’s reasonably slim. In addition, the smaller display certainly helps with that trimmed down form factor.
Interestingly, the display has an aspect ratio of 3:2, with a resolution of 2256×1504. Essentially, this is a 1440p display that, according to Microsoft, looks more like a traditional 14 inch display than a 13 incher.
Straight out of the box, the this laptop will ship with the new Windows 10 S operating system, although a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro is available until December 31, 2017.
